SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The incumbent is responsible for overseeing all divisions of Day Supports, which is community based, to include ISS, CSLA, Day Program, Employment Services, and Vocational. S/he will also supervise staff and develop comprehensive curriculum that will build and enhance the participants. Some duties include, but not limited to the following:
  • Strategizes, develops and carries out an overall vision for the Day Supports Program in conjunction with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Executive Director.
  • Coordinates and ensures implementation and monitoring of all day activities for individuals participating in the Day Supports Program.
  • Develops curriculum and activities that are creative, dynamic, fun and safe for the individuals.
  • Reviews service funding plans and plans program direction.
  • Attends IP meeting, exit/entrance interviews, etc.
  • Corresponds with parents or guardians and Resource Coordinators.
  • Supervises the Day Supports Program Administrators (PA)'s.
  • Manages program budget and handles purchasing for the program.
  • Conducts department trainings when necessary.
  • Ensures accurate ratios are maintained at all times.
  • Immediately responds to emergency situations.
  • Documents and reports any incidents involving staff and/or individuals to the appropriate personnel, guardians, parents, and/or outside agencies.
  • Coordinates with the Director of Nursing to ensure individuals are receiving the proper medical care.
  • Creates and coordinates program outings and internal activities.
  • Ensures monthly attendance records for individuals are collected and forwards to the Executive Assistant by the 10th of every month.
  • Conducts performance evaluations of the Program Administrators and staff and enacts disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Oversees Individual Planning process and compliance for the program.
  • Documents individual’s behaviors on their behavior plans as needed.
  • Reviews and verifies E-time (time and attendance) reports for staff.
  • Maintains medication administration status.
  • Ensure maintenance repair requests and incident reports in Carematic.
  • Safeguards sensitive and confidential information and materials.
  • Performs other duties as designated by the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and/or the Executive Director.
SHIFT HOURS/DAYS: Monday thru Friday; 8:30 am to 4:30 pm; Some extended weekday and weekend hours may be required; Daily Job Site: EPIC Headquarters Forestville, MD

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree with specialty in human services, psychology, or education field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) year’s working with adults with developmental disabilities in a managerial role. 
  • Experience running community based programming.
  • The position requires for one to effectively communicate the English language, orally and in writing with various levels of internal and external clientele as well as to be able to think creatively (outside of the box).
  • The candidate must have the ability to analyze data, solve practical problems and work effectively under tight deadlines and meet those deadlines, conduct courteous public relations and must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Advanced computer skills a plus.
  • Having the ability to interpret regulations, laws, and policies is a necessary skill for this position. 
  • Well-organized; self-starter; multi-task oriented. Familiarity with the DDA system and COMAR regulations preferred.
  • Experience with reviewing individuals’ programs/Individual Plans (IP) helpful.
  • A valid, local driving license with a good driving history. Local travel may be required.
